Explore Shaba: 3 Days/ 2 Nights Safari Itinerary – March Departures

March 1, 2021 @ 8:00 am - March 20, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

Apart from receiving far fewer visitors than its better-known neighbours (Samburu and Buffalo Springs), Shaba National Reserve offers broad landscapes, the meandering Ewaso Nyiro River, lovely Doum palms and picturesque mountain backgrounds, perfect ingredients for an unforgettable adventure.

Shaba is home to elephants, lions, cheetahs, grevy’s zebras, giraffes, gerenuks, buffalos, oryx, grants gazelles, dikdiks and waterbucks. It is also where the renowned Born Free author Joy Adamson spent her final years, and was the subject of her final book Queen of Sheba.

The reserve was also put on the world map when it served as the location of the hit US reality series Survivor in 2001 making it the first African destination to be featured on Survivor.

You can also experience unique social interactions with the local Samburu and Ndorobo people barely influenced by tourism. The warm and welcoming hospitality makes for an intimate and exceptional experience.
