Nairobi Railway Museum

A must for steam engine fans, this museum oozes nostalgia. The old railway building houses models of trains, along with photographs and other memorabilia from the days of the old East African railway.

Built between 1896 and 1901, the railway claimed the lives of nearly 2,500 labourers, earning the nickname the Lunatic Express. Exhibits include a display on the notorious Man Eaters of Tsavo. Outside, there are restored steam and diesel engines.
